ENGITEC now officially part of consortium

ENGITEC Limited, based in Cyprus, has been officially accepted by the European Commission as a full consortium member and project beneficiary.  ENGITEC will participate fully in the project until its conclusion in July 2016.

 

Consortium meeting 7: July 2016

The consortium met in July 2016 in Limassol, Cyprus and were hosted by ENGITEC, the new consortium member.  Progress on the project for the period February – July was reviewed.  Discussion focussed on work completed, preparation of project reports and plans for the future.

 

Consortium meeting 6: February 2016

The consortium met in February 2016 in Ciudad Real, Spain and the meeting was hosted by the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM).  Progress on the project for the period September 2015 – February 2016 was reviewed.  Work scheduled for the next six months was discussed in detail, to ensure alignment with the project’s tasks, deliverables and milestones.

 

First technical report: Q1 2015

The first OPTIMUS technical report has been submitted to the European Commission.  The report covered the first 18 months of project activity.  The consortium recently received notice from the Commission that it has been reviewed and accepted.  Another similar technical report will be delivered at the end of the project, in summer 2016.

Consortium meeting 5: September 2015

The consortium met in September 2015 in Albacete, Spain and were hosted by Ingeteam Service.  Progress on the project for the period January – September was reviewed.  Work scheduled for the next six months was discussed in detail, to ensure alignment with the project’s tasks, deliverables and milestones.  Activity is continuing on work packages 3 – 6; work package 7 has just started, in-line with the project schedule.

Condition monitoring conference: June 2015

The Twelfth International Conference on Condition Monitoring and Machinery Failure Prevention Technologies took place in Oxford, UK from 9th – 11th June 2015.  A special session on OPTIMUS was organised and the keynote presentation was given by Antonio Fernández Díez of Ingeteam.  Several other OPTIMUS project partners also presented their work during the conference.  The event was hosted by the British Institute of NDT in close cooperation and partnership with the US Society for Machinery Failure Prevention Technology (MFPT).

Dr Papaelias from the University of Birmingham and Dr Karyotakis from Terna Energy were invited to speak at the Wind Operator Congress Europe event in London, UK (27th – 28th October 2014).  Attached are their presentation slides (“Analysing the increasing role and use of condition monitoring systems for O&M”).

Consortium meeting 4 held in January 2015

The fourth consortium meeting was held in January 2015 in Brussels and was hosted by Dynamics, Structures and Systems International (D2S), one of the project beneficiaries.  Progress made on various project work packages was presented, along with ongoing tasks, deliverables and reporting updates.  The first official project review is due shortly and preparation for this is underway.

The first International Conference on Renewable Energies Offshore (RENEW 2014) took place in Lisbon, Portugal from 24th – 26th November 2014.  Dr Papaelias of the University of Birmingham gave a presentation titled ” Demonstration of Methods and Tools for the Optimisation of Operational Reliability of Large-Scale Industrial Wind Turbines”.

Professor Lang from the University of Sheffield was invited to present a conference paper on “Loading Independent Wind Turbine Condition Monitoring: A Baseline Model Approach” at the international Workshop on Health Monitoring of Offshore Wind Farms (HEMOW) in Nanjing, China on 26th September 2014.  The workshop was held in conjunction with the 2nd International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring and Integrity Management (ICSHMIM2014, http://www.icshmim.com) and was jointly organised by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China and Newcastle University in the UK.
