Representatives of all project partners attended the first OPTIMUS project consortium meeting, held at Narec in Blyth, Northumberland on 3rd September 2013. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Kyungpook National University from South Korea,
The OPTIMUS FP7 project is now live.
A special OPTIMUS session on wind turbine condition monitoring is organised by the University of Birmingham as part of the 11th International Conference of Condition Monitoring and Machinery Failure Prevention Technologies. The event will be held in Manchester on 10th – 12th June 2014. The session will be chaired by Dr Mayorkinos Papaelias of the University of Birmingham. The keynote presentation will be given by Alexandros Karyotakis of TERNA Energy and is entitled “The optimisation of Operation and Maintenance Strategies of Offshore wind farms and the importance of advanced Condition Monitoring”. Several other partners of the OPTIMUS project will present their work during the conference including the University of Birmingham, TERNA Energy, Feldman Enterprises, Narec, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha and the University of Sheffield. The associate participant Kyungpook National University will also present their work as part of their collaboration with the OPTIMUS consortium.
The project partners have identified a new organisation that they hope will join the consortium shortly. Acciona Energia S.A. are currently in the process of obtaining approval from the European Commission to sign-up to the project.
